About

Who builds LogEM.

LogEM is made by one UK emergency medicine registrar, for UK emergency medicine trainees.

Who I am

I am Dr Thomas Porter, an emergency medicine registrar in the UK. I built LogEM because I needed it. I was keeping procedures in a spreadsheet, scans in a different spreadsheet, and writing both up properly only when ARCP was close.

Everything in the app is shaped by that. Logging has to be quick enough to do on shift, or it does not happen.

Why it is free

LogEM is free, with unlimited entries and no trial period. There is no advertising and nothing is sold on.

A paid tier is planned for optional extras. The logbook itself stays free.

What I can and cannot see

Your logbook is stored on your own device. It is not uploaded and I hold no copy of it, so I cannot read your entries even if you ask me to.

The only thing held is a sign-in record: an identifier and an email or Apple relay address, plus your marketing preference. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Independent of the College

LogEM is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. The procedure list mirrors the RCEM procedural skills list so entries map to what your portfolio expects, but LogEM is not an official College tool and your official portfolio is wherever your deanery says it is.

Getting in touch

Bug reports, missing procedures and feature requests are all welcome. See the contact page.
